Toni – wins and learnings from technical sales
Toni works at Jotwire as an Account Manager. He has been with Ouneva Group for three years. The first two-plus years were spent working as a Sales Engineer. His customer portfolio recently expanded, and with the added responsibility, his role evolved as well.
Toni studied electronics installation at vocational school. He shares that several members of his family were electronics installers, which inspired him to pursue the same path. As a young person, Toni was very interested in computers and electronics. His childhood dream was to become the CEO of Nokia, but that required a bit more studying. After completing his electronics installer training, he went on to study information technology engineering at a university of applied sciences.
However, Toni never worked a single day as an electronics installer or engineer. Instead, sports took over. A former javelin thrower who competed successfully at the national level, Toni says that his competitive drive is useful in his current sales role. Winning deals is just as motivating as achieving great results in competitive sports.
Toni joined Ouneva Group after working for over five years in the insurance industry. During that time, he also coached sales alongside his main job. Through coaching, Toni realised that success in sales can come in many forms. You don’t always need to be highly talkative or socially flamboyant. When he transitioned to a Sales Engineer role at Ouneva Group, he was motivated by career development and the opportunity to work in technical sales. He says technical sales suits him well.
Toni’s proactive and goal-oriented nature fits his role perfectly. Over the past three years, he’s noticed that customers clearly value technical expertise alongside commercial know-how. He’s interested in details and in developing his customer relationships.
“It’s rewarding to see how precision and thoroughness pay off when the customer receives expert service and gains added value for their own operations.”
Toni is genuinely interested in our customers and enjoys being on the road for client visits. According to him, he thrives in that environment. Customer satisfaction depends heavily on the salesperson’s own activity, and in Toni’s case, his commitment is already evident in his enthusiastic presence.
