One year of new strategy

Our journey towards a more unified Ouneva Group began with the launch of our new strategy in June 2024. At the same time, we introduced new values and a shared brand, which meant saying goodbye to company-specific logos and the blue colour scheme. We’ve set our sights on becoming a responsibly growing performer, aiming to reach over €200 million in turnover and a steady 14% operating profit by 2030. To achieve these goals, we’re consistently improving collaboration by investing in quality leadership and the wellbeing of our people. 

We’ve now been on this journey for just over a year, and a lot has been accomplished. We’ve planned and carried out both large and small development initiatives.

We’ve strengthened our shared direction, built a more unified Ouneva Group, and launched development work that supports our long-term goals. I want to warmly thank our entire staff – everyone’s contribution has been important,” says Mikko Nevalainen, president of Ouneva Group. 

Over the past year, we’ve trained our supervisors in value- and strategy-based leadership and involved our entire staff in value and strategy work. We’ve also analysed differences between our companies to identify the most impactful development areas for improving unity. To support continuous learning, we’ve built a new competence development model, which is already being piloted. We’ve also actively increased the diversity and internationality of our work community. 

We’ve taken major steps forward in sustainability as well. Ouneva Group’s sustainability strategy was created in autumn 2024, setting our goals across three areas of corporate responsibility: a healthy and motivated workforce, reducing environmental impact, and being a profitable and reliable business partner. During the year, we’ve also prepared Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for several of our own connector products and published a sustainability review for 2024, which includes key figures and updates from our companies across different areas. 

“In the next 12 months, we’ll move even more from plans to action. We’re heading into a year of concrete measures and development, where our strategy will be increasingly visible in our everyday work,” Nevalainen summarises.
